Marq is a brand-approved design platform supported by ISS Marketing & Communications to help teams create clear, professional and on-brand materials quickly. Built for speed and ease of use, Marq allows staff to customize pre-approved templates without needing design expertise or long approval timelines.

 

Why We Use Marq

Have you ever had a report, flyer, binder cover or event handout land on your desk at the last minute with a fast-approaching deadline? These situations are common across operational and business units, where communication needs often arise quickly, and timelines are tight.

Marq exists to support these moments.

ISS Marketing & Communications invests in Marq to meet teams where they are. We support 18 units across a wide range of operational, business, and service areas, each with different audiences, priorities, and turnaround needs. Providing access to a shared, brand-approved platform helps teams move faster while staying aligned with University standards.

Marq reduces barriers, shortens turnaround times and provides built-in support so staff can focus on their work, not on formatting or design guesswork.

Marq helps teams move from idea to finished material in minutes, not days.

Rather than long wait times for design support for common or recurring needs, teams can start with templates that are ready to use. This template-first approach allows work to move forward quickly while maintaining consistency across the university.

Templates are designed and maintained by UNM marketing professionals and structured so that core brand elements are locked, while editable areas are clearly marked.

 

Built-In Review & Approval Support

Marq includes an approval process to ensure materials remain accurate, polished and aligned with University standards, including UAP 1010.

When a document is submitted for approval, it is reviewed by your marketing representative. This review may include refining text for clarity and consistency, improving photo quality or placement, and adjusting design elements to better align with brand guidelines. These changes are made to strengthen your final product and help avoid issues before distribution.

The approval process is not intended to slow work down, but to provide an added layer of support so teams can share materials with confidence.

 

Access & Licensing

ISS Marketing & Communications provides a limited number of Marq licenses at no cost to teams. Because licenses are limited, access requests are reviewed to ensure the platform is the right fit for your workflow.

If an account remains inactive for one year, access may be removed to responsibly manage available licenses. If this occurs, files associated with the account are transferred to the marketing representative so materials remain preserved and accessible.

If your role changes or you need access again in the future, support is available.
