UCAM Brand Design & Logo Usage Workshop 101
This workshop focuses on the new UNM Brand Style Guide, design elements including fonts, colors, textures, shadows and basic design principles. This workshop is required in order to receive the official UNM brand style fonts, Gotham and Vitesse. Additionally, the course covers the proper use of the new UNM logo, recommendations on how to use unit logos, and trademarks and licensing basics.
Learning Objectives:
- Learn technical skills to implement Brand design elements.
- Learn how to use Brand fonts.
- Learn where to find marketing and communication resources on campus.
Who should take this course? UNM Staff who have marketing and/or communication duties within their units.
Course Registration InfoRequest UNM Fonts
A limited number of licenses for the UNM brand fonts (Vitesse and Gotham) have been purchased by University Communication & Marketing for use by University marketing and communication professionals. Font licenses will be granted on a case-by-case basis, and only to individuals who have attended a UCAM Brand Workshop. Upon course completion, sign the UCAM Font Agreement and submit the form via UCAM'S Marketing Request form (Category = Request UNM Fonts).
Update Your Unit Logo Liaison
Logo Liaisons are specific individuals designated by units of the University to distribute and moderate use of specific UNM logos. Only individuals with the authority to reassign or update Logo Liaisons may request a Logo Liaison change (this includes existing Logo Liaisons). If you are interested in becoming a Logo Liaison but your logo already has a designated Logo Liaison, please reach out to your designated Logo Liaison to discuss this possibility.
Under the 'Category' dropdown menu, select ‘Update Logo Liaison’, complete the form and submit.
Website Management (WCMS) Training
ISS departments may establish and manage their own departmental website's. UCAM's web communications division maintains oversight of the accounts and offers guidance and paid web support contracts to assist with website content management. University website's are governed by the University Administrative Policy #2570.
All staff responsible for editing and updating departmental website's will be required to complete the UNM Web Content Management - Cascade Serverclass before they will be given access to the Web Content Management System (WCMS). Users will not be given access to the WCMS or departmental website's until they have completed the required training.
Under the web content management tab, select Training from the drop-down menu
- Click the button: “Begin WCMS Training”
