Campus Capital & Space Planning

With an impressive career spanning over two decades at the University of New Mexico (UNM), Jessica assumed the pivotal role of Director of Campus Capital & Space Planning (CCSP) within UNM's Institutional Support Services (ISS) in July 2023. Her journey has been marked by progression through various diverse roles, culminating in her previous position as Sr. Operations Manager for the Office of the Provost & EVP for Academic Affairs. In this capacity, she adeptly managed UNM's Capital Plan/Facility Investment Need (FIN) process for academic projects and actively participated in multiple committees aimed at enhancing space policies and procedures. These experiences have uniquely positioned her for her current role as Director for CCSP.

In her current capacity, Jessica spearheads UNM's Campus Capital & Space Planning, assuming responsibility for steering capital improvement priorities, strategic planning, and the implementation of space policies. Her leadership extends to the oversight of campus-wide capital projects, ensuring they align with the broader institutional goals. Collaborating closely with UNM's senior leadership, she ensures that capital renewal needs harmonize with the institution's strategic vision, further advancing the university's interests through presentations to government and community agencies.

Central to Jessica's role is the strategic integration of facility renewal projects into the annual capital plans, to holistically support plans for UNM's future growth. Simultaneously, she oversees the management of The University's space inventory and allocation database, a vital function for optimizing space utilization across all UNM campuses.  

With her comprehensive understanding of capital planning and space management, Jessica plays a pivotal role in driving sustainable growth and achieving optimal space utilization at The University. Her efforts help to ensure that all of UNM's campuses continue to foster an environment of academic excellence.
