Facility Access (ADA)

University Planning functions as Chair of the Facility Access Committee (FAC) which serves the UNM community in an advisory role regarding accessibility issues within the physical environment of all UNM campuses.  The FAC is charged with the following:

  • Updating the UNM ADA Transition Plan (link) which guides and assesses UNM’s progress toward full ADA compliance of all its facilities.
  • Prioritizing unresolved accessibility issues and projects for timely resolution.
  • Reviewing all plans for new construction, remodel, and planning projects for compliance to accessibility standards.
  • Providing assistance, guidance, notification, and response to the UNM community on facility access issues.
  • Allocating FAC funds toward priority projects that cannot otherwise be resolved.
