How do I get my project on the “list”?
Capital Outlay Planning is a continuous yearly process that identifies large, non-recurring expenditures such as the construction of a building, acquisition, repairs and campus improvements. Planning and Campus Development works closely with the Provost’s office, OCP, and campus wide stakeholders conjoining strategic facilities plans, feasibility studies and needs assessments with the UNM Master Plan to develop the 5 and 10-year Capital Outlay Plan.
The Capital Outlay Committee administers the process, identifies potential targets for the following year in conjunction with Deans and Leadership, facilitates communications with the Higher Education Department, and reviews the Comprehensive Capital Outlay List for completeness, cost, and phasing. Members include personnel from the Provost Office, Budget Office, Institutional Support Services Administration, PCD, Physical Plant Dept., Information Technology, Capital Projects, Student Affairs, Athletics, and Health Sciences Center Administration.
Capital Outlay projects are submitted annually for NM Legislative funding after approval by the Dean (project specific), Provost, Executive Vice President of Health Sciences Center, Executive Vice President of Administration, President and the Board of Regents.
